Pakistan’s superstar Arshad Nadeem has once again made the nation proud, this time clinching the gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championship with a stunning throw of 86.40 meters in the men’s javelin throw final at Gumi, South Korea, on Wednesday.
Competing internationally for the first time since last year’s Paris Olympics, where he famously won Pakistan’s first-ever singles gold, all eyes were on Nadeem as he returned to the big stage. And once again, he delivered.
With ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ echoing through the stadium, Arshad launched his javelin deep into the Gumi sky on his final (sixth) attempt, surpassing his own previous best of 85.57m set earlier in the competition.
The Olympic champion started off with throws of 75.64m and 76.80m in his first two attempts, gradually building momentum before hitting his peak in the final round.

He had already made headlines a day earlier during the qualification round, recording a jaw-dropping 86.34m throw on his first and only attempt, sending a strong message to his rivals ahead of the final.
Nadeem’s golden throw not only secured top spot on the podium but also reaffirmed his place among the continent’s elite javelin throwers.
Chairman South Asian Athletics Association, Major General (R) Muhammad Akram Sahi, congratulated Arshad Nadeem on his sensational achievement.
President of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, Brigadier (R) Wajahat Hussain Sahi, also extended his greetings to the nation on Arshad’s win, calling it a moment of pride for every Pakistani.
Meanwhile, Secretary Colonel (R) Shah Jehan and other federation officials also hailed the champion’s efforts and lauded his commitment to excellence.
