ABU DHABI: Tim David’s six-hitting masterclass propelled UAE Bulls to a victory over Quetta Qavalary in Qualifier 2, powering them into the final of Abu Dhabi T10 here at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Set 105, Bulls hit the winning runs on the second ball of the seventh over, thanks to Tim David’s sublime 57* off just 18 balls.

The finalists started their chase on a poor note as they lost opener Phil Salt and Rovman Powell in the second over. Mohammad Amir was the tormentor, removing both for two and three runs respectively.

As a result, UAE Bulls were reduced to 8-2 in 2 overs.

However, it was Phil Salt and Tim David’s 56-run partnership that put their chase back on track. Salt made 37 from 18 with the aid of two sixes and four boundaries. At this stage, Bulls were 64-3 in 5.2 overs.

ABU DHABI: The playoffs for the Abu Dhabi T10 league are confirmed as the final four teams have secured their spots after Deccan Gladiators defeated Vista Riders in the last league match of the tournament here on Friday.

Quetta Qavalry, who have already qualified for the next round, finished in top position with 12 points to their name. Earlier in the day, they suffered their only loss in the tournament against Royal Champs by 14 runs.

Quetta Qavalary will now face Aspin Stallions in Qualifier 1 tomorrow at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

All four matches of the playoffs will be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Qavalry and Stallions have two chances of qualifying for the Abu Dhabi T10 final after finishing in the top two of the points table, since the loser of Qualifier 1 will take on the winner of Eliminator on Sunday in Qualifier 2.

The eliminator will be played between Ajman Titans and UAE Bulls, with the grand final on Sunday.

ABU DHABI: Ajman Titans left-arm pacer Akif Javed delivered an outstanding spell to power his side to a 21-run victory over Deccan Gladiators in the 21st fixture of the Abu Dhabi T10 here on Wednesday.

Akif took three for five in his two overs, which restricted Gladiators to 88-7 in pursuit of a 110-run target.
