‘Technology isn’t that advanced here’ claims Australian curator Hough

KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Australian curator Damien Hough asserted that the technology in Pakistan is not advanced as compared in Australia.

Following his visit to the Naya Nazimabad Cricket Ground to inspect the pitches in light of the PCB’s initiative for the improvisation of the pitches, the chief curator of Adelaide Oval Hough engaged in media interaction here and compared the technological advancement between the two cricketing nations.

“Compared to Australia, technology is not as advanced here. Whereas, cricket grounds here offer good facilities for the sport,” Hough stated.

“I did not come here to criticize anyone but to teach the technique of making grassy pitches. I am well aware of the fact that every nation has its own procedure for preparing the pitch but I am confident that together we can make better pitches in Pakistan that should be beneficial for both batters and bowlers,” he maintained.

The expert curator then went on to claim that he had a wonderful time visiting Pakistan to examine local pitches and outfields in light of PCB’s initiative.

“The experience of coming to Pakistan has been excellent so far. The people here are very passionate about cricket,” he said.

Australian curator visits Naya Nazimabad Stadium for pitches inspection

KARACHI: Australia’s expert pitch curator Damien Hough inspected the Naya Nazimabad Stadium outfield and square today and interacted with the curator and ground staff.

Details indicate that Hough paid a visit to Naya Nazimabad Stadium today following his Friday visit to the National Stadium, and inspected the pitch and the square.

Hough, the chief curator of Adelaide Oval, met with the groundskeepers and curators at the Naya Nazimabad cricket ground and offered advice on how to improvise the pitch preparation.

The PCB-appointed pitches expert had earlier visited Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and Rawalpindi Stadium as part of his tour of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, under the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) initiative to improvise the pitches, the Australian soil will also be tested in Naya Nazimabad stadium. Whereas, the soil is expected to reach next week.

It is worth mentioning here that Hough is currently on a two-week trip to Pakistan to inspect local pitches and outfields besides giving consultancy to local curators on pitch-making techniques.

Australian expert visits National Stadium for pitches inspection

KARACHI: Australian pitches expert Damien Hough inspected the National Stadium outfield and square today during his three-day visit to Karachi and interacted with the curator and ground staff.

According to the detail, Damien Hough reached Karachi and visited the National Stadium to examine the ground’s pitches and the outfield.

During his three-day stay in Karachi, Hough will deliver lectures to the pitch curators, ground staff and local coaches on cutting-edge pitch preparation techniques before his departure on Sunday afternoon.

The PCB-appointed pitches expert had earlier visited Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and Rawalpindi Stadium as part of his tour of Pakistan.

Australian pitches expert visits Rawalpindi Stadium, guides local curators

RAWALPINDI: Australian pitches expert Damien Hough visited Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and delivered a lecture to the local curators on cutting-edge pitch preparation techniques, here on Thursday.

According to the details, Hough, the head curator of Adelaide Oval, reached Rawalpindi Stadium for the inspection of the ground’s pitches and out-field while he shared his expertise with the local curators during his visit.

Moreover, Hough will visit National Stadium Karachi tomorrow and examine the pitches and out-fields of the ground currently undergoing the rebuilding phase.

The PCB-appointed pitch expert had earlier visited Qaddafi Stadium Lahore and held a productive session with the local pitch curators and coaches on pitch-preparation techniques.

PCB-appointed Australian pitches expert to arrive in Pakistan on July 15

LAHORE: Australian pitches expert with 26-year experience will arrive in Pakistan on July 15 for inspection of local pitches and outfields besides giving consultancy to local curators on pitch-making techniques.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Damien Hough, head curator of Adelaide Oval, will arrive in Lahore tomorrow on a two-week tour of the country during which he will also visit Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan.

Australian expert will carry out inspection of outfields and pitches squares as well during his visit to local stadiums.

Hough will deliver lectures on pitch preparations and the basic methodology of pitch making for all three formats of the game to local curators, coaches, and city cricket associations, before his departure on July 28.

Furthermore, the Australian expert will also share his knowledge with local pitch curators regarding the introduction of day/night pitches for Test cricket.
