Karachi Kings reveal official jersey for PSL 10

KARACHI: Karachi Kings have revealed the official team jersey for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 on Sunday, featuring a bold new look with classic colours.

The striking blue and red theme jersey showcases the Karachi Kings’ logo on its top right. It honors the franchise’s rich legacy while introducing a fresh and confident new identity.

Designed by the creative minds at The Peace Club, the new jersey blends fashion and function with a bold, unique perspective.

The franchise unveiled the jersey on their social media handles, featuring David Warner, who was photographed wearing it, with the caption: ”Fresh, fabulous, and full of Karachi swag.”


It’s worth noting that PSL 10 is set to commence on April 11, 2025. The opening match will see defending champions Islamabad United take on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The tournament, featuring six teams and 34 matches, will run from April 11 to May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is set to host 13 matches, including both Eliminators and the grand final.

Karachi Kings will play their opening match on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at their home ground, National Bank Stadium, Karachi, against Multan Sultans.

Earlier, the Kings named Former Australian opener David Warner as the captain of the Karachi Kings for PSL season 10.

The left-hander, known for his explosive batting and fearless approach, brings a wealth of leadership experience and a reputation for winning big games.

The experienced Warner, a winner of both the ODI and T20 World Cups, is regarded as one of the most dangerous T20 openers and has captained several major cricket leagues over the past decade, including the Big Bash League (BBL).

Karachi Kings selected Warner as their first pick in the Platinum category during the PSL 10 Players Draft, which took place on January 13, 2025, at the historic Hazoori Bagh in Lahore.

PCB introduces Match Officials’ Technology for PSL 10

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Match Officials’ Technology (MOT) will be used for the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The PSL 10 will begin from Friday, 11 April with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two times champions Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The six-team tournament will see 34 matches from 11 April to 18 May, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium set to host 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the final.

“While the league has previously embraced components of MOT, this edition marks a significant step forward—aligning HBL PSL with the highest global standards in officiating, transparency and viewer engagement,” the PCB said in a statement.

The statement further mentioned that every match of PSL 10 will feature a comprehensive, tech-backed officiating ecosystem.

“From auto no-ball detection and live umpire communication to DRS and innings timers, match logging and real-time multi-angle replays, every HBL PSL match of this edition will operate with a comprehensive tech-backed officiating ecosystem,” the board said.

“A dedicated Hawk-Eye technician will be stationed at every match to support umpires and streamline operations.”

The MOT will also allow fans to see DRS and innings timers on the big screen and broadcast graphics in real time.

For the first time in tournament history, the over-rate calculations will be made available ball-by-ball for the teams and fans.

In addition, match umpires will be equipped with handheld tablets for real-time logging of over-rate calculations and instant DRS triggers in the PSL 10.

Following the announcement, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer expressed his thoughts on the innovation in the upcoming edition, emphasizing the improvement in the decision-making.

“HBL PSL has always seeks to introduce innovation in the league and after weeks of deliberation regarding which innovation to introduce, we can now proudly say that HBL PSL X matches will have full MOT integration,” he said.

“By introducing this, we will uphold fairness in every decision, providing greater clarity for officials, players and fans alike,” he remarked.

Peshawar Zalmi add Luke Wood to PSL 10 squad

Luke Wood, the England fast bowler, has been included in the Peshawar Zalmi squad for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, which is set to begin on April 11.

The 2017 PSL-winning franchise announced his arrival on social media accounts in an animated poster.

“Welcome back, Luke Wood. England fast bowler is back to charge in for Zalmi at PSL 10,” the franchise wrote.


According to the media reports, Wood has been roped into Zalmi’s squad in place of Bangladesh’s emerging seamer Nahid Rana.

Nahid will be partially unavailable for the tournament due to a home Test series against Zimbabwe.

The fast bowler previously represented the franchise in the PSL 9, taking 13 wickets in 12 matches.

PSL 10 tickets to go on sale from THIS date

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday revealed that the tickets for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 will go on sale from Thursday, 3 April.

The online tickets will be available for sale from Thursday, 3 April, at 3 p.m. PKT at PCB.tcs.com.pk.

“Physical tickets will be accessible at TCS Express Centers across the country from April 7,” the PCB stated in a press release.

“Fans who book tickets online can collect them from designated TCS pickup centers or opt for home delivery via TCS.”

General tickets for all four venues will be available for PKR 650 while tickets for the opening match between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will range from PKR 1,000 to PKR 8,500.

Ravi Bopara appointed as Karachi Kings’ head coach for PSL 10

Former England cricketer Ravi Bopara has been appointed as the head coach of Karachi Kings for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Ravi Bopara takes over from the former West Indies cricketer Phil Simmons, who was the King’s head coach since December 2023.

The decision came after Phil Simmons’ contract was extended as Bangladesh’s head coach for the next two years, up until the end of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

The BCB offered him a longer contract after initially appointing him as interim coach until the conclusion of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Ravi Bopara, who represented England in 38 T20Is, was the Karachi Kings’ assistant batting coach for the past three seasons.

The former all-rounder also played and captained the Karachi Kings in earlier editions of the PSL and was named Player of the Tournament in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 1.

The Karachi Kings’ social media account posted an animated poster announcing his appointment as head coach.

Additionally, Muhammad Masroor was named the Assistant Coach and high-performance Coach of the Kings.

It’s worth noting that, the PCB on 7 January announced to reschedule the PSL 10 Player Draft, which will now take place on 13 January at Huzoori Bagh, Lahore Fort.

The event has been moved from the earlier announced venue, Gwadar, due to unforeseen logistical challenges. The PSL 10 Trophy Tour scheduled in March will now feature Gwadar as a key location on its route across Pakistan.

The landmark season 10 of the PSL is slotted to take place between 8 April and 19 May later this year. The six franchises will assemble their star-studded squads on Monday, 13 January during the Player Draft ceremony at one of Lahore’s most iconic heritage sites.
