T10 League: Deccan Gladiators defeat Northern Warriors

Deccan Gladiators clinched a six-wicket win over Northern Warriors in the 11th game of the T10 League in Abu Dhabi.

Batting first, Northern Warriors made 70-6 in their given 10 overs. Samit Patel top was the top scorer with 21 off 13 balls after hitting two boundaries and a six.

Skipper Rovman Powell and Abhimanyu Mithun scored 11 runs each.

Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva got two wickets for the Gladiators.

The Deccan side completed the runs chase with 17 balls to spare. David Wiese top-scored with an unbeaten knock of 27 from nine balls with the help of three sixes.

Amir joins Bangla Tigers for Abu Dhabi T10 League

ABU DHABI: Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has joined Bangla Tigers for the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. 

Amir was tested COVID-19 positive a couple of days ago after which he announced to withdraw from initial matches of the fastest format cricket league.

Now, the franchise has confirmed the joining of Amir by sharing a picture from his first training session with the team.

It must be noted here that exciting contests in Abu Dhabi T10 League are underway. Team Abu Dhabi is leading the points table with winning all of their four matches so far. Delhi Bulls are second after winning three out of their matches.

Abu Dhabi T10 League: Adil Rashid powers Delhi Bulls to victory

ABU DHABI: Ace spinner Adil Rashid’s devastating spell of two wickets for six runs helped Delhi Bulls in ensuring a crushing defeat to Bangla Tigers by six runs in the fifth match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

In the fifth match of the shortest format league ongoing in Abu Dhabi, the Delhi Bulls easily achieved a modest target of 70 runs set by Bangla Tigers in the last over for the loss of four wickets.

Sherfane Rutherford lead the scorecard with a 27-run inning and was supported by Eoin Morgan with his 22 runs. Pakistani batsman Muhammad Hafeez scored seven runs followed by five runs from Dwayne Bravo and two runs from Rilee Rossouw while Rehman Ullah couldn’t score a run.


James Faulkner lead the Bangla Tigers bowling attack with two wickets, followed by one wicket each for Tom Hartley and Luke Wood.

Previously, the Bangla Tigers scored 69 runs for the loss of six wickets, and only two of its batters were able to enter the double figures. Isuru Udana remained a top scorer with 21 runs followed by 19 runs from James Faulkner.

Adil Rashid led the bowling attack for Delhi Bulls and took two wickets for six runs and was supported by Fazal Haq Farooqi who took two wickets for eight runs, ensuring a victory for their team in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Gladiators beat Braves to start Abu Dhabi T10 League on a winning note

ABU DHABI: Deccan Gladiators beat Chennai Braves by 24 runs to start Abu Dhabi T10 League’s campaign on a winning note. 

In the third match of the shortest format league, Gladiators scored 146-3 while batting first. Tom Moores and Andre Russell thrashed opponents by powering a 94-run partnership as Gladiators posted mammoth 146-3.

Moores remained not out for 47 laced with two boundaries and five sixes while Russell made 43 including three boundaries and four sixes.

For Braves, Munaf Patel, Dhananjaya Lakshan and Dasun Shanaka shared a wicket apiece.

In reply, the Braves were off to a slow start losing two early wickets. But, Angelo Perera (60) and Ravi Bopara (51) scored 109 runs together to bring their team back in the game.

Braves missed a couple of chances in the end which led them 24 runs short to the target.

Wahab Riaz and Odean Smith bagged two wickets each for Gladiators.

Team Abu Dhabi triumph over Bangla Tigers in T10 League

Team Abu Dhabi registered a 40-run win over the Bangla Tigers in the second game of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

The host, batting first, managed 145-4 thanks to a half-century by opener Paul Stirling. He made 59 from 23 deliveries with six fours and five maximums.

Chris Gayle remained unbeaten at 49 off 23 balls with two boundaries and five sixes to his name.

James Faulkner, Isuru Udana and Benny Howell took a wicket each for the Tigers.

In reply, Bangla Tigers were restricted to 105-8 thanks to a five-wicket haul Marchant de Lange. He finished with figures of 5-23 in his two overs.

Opener Andre Fletcher top-scored with 24 from eight deliveries with three fours and two maximums to his name.

Hazratullah Zazai and Benny Howell scored 18 and 15 respectively.

Hafeez, Rahmanullah drive Delhi Bulls to victory in Abu Dhabi T10 League’s opener

ABU DHABI: Mohammad Hafeez and Sherfane Rutherford partnered strongly to help Delhi Bulls beat Northern Warriors by six wickets in the opening match of Abu Dhabi T10 League season 5 here at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Friday. 

Hafeez and Rutherford smoked 51 runs together as the Warriors chased 108 runs in nine overs. Hafeez smashed 31 runs off 18 balls including four boundaries and a six whereas Rutherford made 29 off 15 balls that saw four boundaries and a six.

Earlier, Rahmanullah Gurbaz struck 30 off 10 with four sixes and a boundary to provide a solid start to the Bulls in the run-chase.

Sent into bat first, Moeen Ali and Rovman Powell stole the show with their 70-run stand as the Warriors scored 107-4 against the Bulls.

After losing a couple of wickets, Warriors innings was supported by their two key batters, Ali and Powell. Ali scored 35 runs off 21 balls including two boundaries and as many sixes whereas Powell struck 38 runs off 19 balls laced with three boundaries and two sixes.

For Bulls, Shiraz Ahmed, Ravi Rampaul, Romario Shepherd and Dwayne Bravo shared a wicket apiece.

Amir withdraws from Abu Dhabi T10 league after suffering from COVID-19

KARACHI: Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has withdrawn from the Abu Dhabi T10 League following his recent positive report of the COVID-19 test. 

Taking to Twitter, Amir shared that he will not be playing Abu Dhabi T10 league this year due to suffering from a viral virus.

“Hi everyone. Just wanted to say m I am not playing the Abu Dhabi T10 league this year because I got affected with the covid but now I am fine Alhumdulillah just need prayers for the speedy recovery,” he wrote on Twitter.

Amir was picked up by Bangla Tigers who also have extraordinary T20 players like Faf du Plessis, James Faulkner, Andre Fletcher, and Hazratullah Zazai.
