The countdown to the much-anticipated season 10 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is nearly over, with all six franchises having finalised their squads for the marquee tournament.

While the initial squads were locked during the PSL 10 player draft held at Lahore’s historic Huzoori Bagh on January 13, 2025, minor tweaks and changes have since been made across the teams.

The PSL 10 will begin on Friday, 11 April, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time champions Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The six-team tournament will see 34 matches from 11 April to 18 May, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium set to host 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the final.

David Willey sets sights on impactful season with Multan Sultans in PSL 10

KARACHI: Former England pacer David Willey aims to excel for Multan Sultans in the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, starting this Friday.

While speaking to the media at the National Bank Stadium here, Willey expressed his excitement about being part of the PSL again.

He highlighted the quality of cricket in the marquee event while mentioning the challenge of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and PSL this year.

“PSL and IPL are happening at the same time, and I don’t know how it is navigated, but from a personal point of view, I love being here in Pakistan,” Willey remarked.

The 35-year-old pacer recalled his experience of playing in Pakistan, emphasizing Multan Sultan’s previous record in the PSL.

“Delighted to be back for Multan; thoroughly enjoyed being here and playing cricket in Pakistan.”

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced that Player Tracking Technology will be used for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The technology will keep a ball-by-ball record of various aspects of play.

“The players’ movements, including fielders’ coordinates, bowler run-ups, and batting stances on the field, will be tracked frame-by-frame on each delivery, the PCB said in a statement.

The spectators will be able to watch the data gathered from each ball on the screen during the PSL 10 matches.

The main features of the Player Tracking Technology include zone-based performance analysis for the fielders, scoring-zone integration for the batters, ball-catching analysis on caught dismissals, and a breakdown of field placements.

Following the announcement, PSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Naseer emphasized the importance of technology in enhancing the fan experience, mentioning the league’s commitment to innovation.

“The HBL PSL has always embraced innovation and with the introduction of Player Tracking Technology in its upcoming edition, we are taking a step forward in enriching the fan experience, ” he said.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain feels optimistic about securing a place in the upcoming Asia Cup, driven by his performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, which kicks off on April 11.

PSL 10: Mohammad Nabi aims for “something special” in Karachi Kings return

Veteran Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has rejoined the Karachi Kings for the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, expressing his excitement to be back with the franchise and his desire to deliver something special this season.

Nabi, who previously represented the Kings in the 2021 and 2022 editions, joined the squad yesterday after being picked in the supplementary category for PSL 10.

This marks his fourth PSL season overall, having debuted with Quetta Gladiators in the inaugural edition back in 2016.

“I’m really happy to be back with the Karachi Kings. I’ve always enjoyed my time here, and the environment has been great from day one. I played two seasons with this team, and I’m hopeful that I can perform well and help achieve something special this time around,” said Nabi after his first training session with the team.

Reflecting on his global T20 experience across leagues and teams, the Afghan all-rounder believes that adapting to different environments helps build chemistry quickly—especially with local players.

“When you’ve played in different leagues across the world, with different teams and players, it becomes easier to adjust,” he added.

“Yes, this is a new combination again, and it might take a day or two, but I’m confident we’ll click soon, especially with the young local talent around. There’s a lot of potential in this squad, and I’m excited to work with them.”

With a wealth of experience under his belt, Mohammad Nabi spoke highly of the team’s leadership and coaching setup, including captain David Warner, head coach Ravi Bopara, and bowling coach Shaun Tait.

“It’s a very positive environment here. The combination of senior guys like David, Ravi, Shaun, and myself is a great mix,” he stated.

“I’ve played alongside Ravi before, and now seeing him as a coach—it’s impressive how well he manages things. He understands both the game and the players. I’m confident this setup will work well for Karachi Kings.”

Nabi, who has scored 350 runs at a blistering strike rate of 142.85 and taken 10 wickets in his 22 PSL matches, is also looking forward to mentoring the younger players in the squad.

“There are a lot of young players in this team, and they’re working really hard. Today was my first training session with them, and I can already see their passion. I’ll be learning with them, and I’ll also be sharing my experience and advice wherever I can. We’ll grow together as a team.”

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday confirmed that the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 will kick off with a star-studded and glittering opening ceremony here at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to the details, the grand opening ceremony will feature renowned artists Abrar ul Haq, Ali Zafar, Natasha Baig and Talha Anjum, who collaborated to craft the PSL 10 Anthem, X Dekho, alongside Abida Parveen and Young Stunners.

“Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host its first-ever opening ceremony of the HBL PSL. The ceremony will kick off at 7:00 PM on Friday, 11 April,” the PCB stated in a press release.

“The opening match of the six-team tournament will be played between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time winners Lahore Qalandars on the same day, with the first ball to be bowled at 8:30 PM.

“The marquee event will be played at four venues – Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Multan Cricket Stadium and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The final of the event is scheduled to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium on 18 May.

“The opening ceremony at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will feature an array of exciting performances from renowned Sufi music artist Abida Parveen along with a cultural act from Ali Zafar and a contemporary performance by Young Stunners.
