DUBAI: Following his sensational batting form, Pakistan’s captain and star batter Babar Azam has claimed the fourth position in the latest Test batting rankings announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC), here on Wednesday.
Babar has been elevated from fifth to the fourth spot in the latest rankings released by the ICC, as he surpassed New Zealand’s skipper Kane Williamson with a rating of 815 compared to the latter’s 806 ratings.
Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne remained at the top of the Test batters’ rankings, followed by England’s Joe Root as Australia’s Steve Smith slipped to the third spot.
It is pertinent to mention here that Babar still holds the top position in the ODI and T20I batters’ rankings with 891 and 818 ratings respectively.

DUBAI: Pakistan right-handed batter Sidra Ameen made a big gain in the ICC ODI Women’s Batting Rankings as she stormed into the top 40 of the rankings following her brilliant performance against Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded series.
Sidra, who enjoyed a delightful home series against Sri Lanka, jumped 19 places to secure her career-best 35th rank in the latest ODI batting rankings.
The right-handed batter scored 218 runs at an average of 72.66 including a century and half-century during a three-match series.
Sidra started the year on a high as she became just the first Pakistani woman batter to score a century in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. With her second this year against Sri Lanka, she has also levelled with Javeria Khan as the second batter to score two centuries for Pakistan in Women’s ODIs.
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu, on the other hand, also returned to the rankings following her remarkable century against Pakistan in the third ODI, bolstering her to claim the 23rd ranking.
Australia’s Alyssa Healy still leads the ODI batter rankings after a dominating Women’s World Cup earlier this year.

DUBAI: Pakistan’s left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq has moved into the top 10 of the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI Men’s Batting Rankings following his brilliant century against Australia in the first ODI on Tuesday.
As per the latest rankings, shared by the ICC, the left-handed opener moved up two places to achieve the 10th spot in the top ODI batters.
The star with the ball for Australia in the first ODI – Adam Zampa, has jumped six places to secure the ninth rank, shared with his Aghanistan counterpart, Rashid Khan.
In the Test rankings, however, Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has replaced New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson to claim the fifth rank in the Test bowlers’ rankings.
On the other hand, the man of the series of the recently concluded Benaud-Qadir Trophy between Pakistan and Australia – Usman Khawaja has leapt six places to claim his career-best seventh rank, while his countryman Steve Smith has moved to the second spot.
Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne remained the top Test batter, while Pakistani skipper Babar Azam still leads the ODI and T20I batting rankings.
