Pakistan’s star boxer Waseem becomes World number one boxer

KARACHI: Pakistan’s star boxer, Muhammad Waseem, who recently became WBC Silver World Champion has topped the WBA boxing ranking in the Flyweight category on Thursday.

Waseem, who beat Colombia’s Rober Berrera in Dubai for two titles, became the first-ever Pakistani boxer to top the WBA boxing ranking in any category.

Waseem is also the only Pakistani who crowned two-time world boxing champion.

Despite winning world championships, Waseem has often lamented the lack of government support.
