Shahnawaz Dahani undergoes nose surgery in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan’s young pacer, Shahnawaz Dahani undergoes a prolonged surgery in a local hospital in Karachi, on Monday.

According to the details, Dahani had a stone in his nose, due to which he was facing trouble in breathing.

After the MRI reports, the pacer underwent an immediate operation. He was discharged from the hospital after two hours.

The right-arm fast bowler was the top-wicket taker of the last edition of Pakistan Super League; picking up 20 wickets. He recently made his T20I debut for Pakistan, and represented the country in two T20Is. The pacer picked two wickets in his international career so far.

KARACHI: Rookie pacer Shahnawaz Dahani was honored by a Gold Medal from the Sports Journalist Association of Sindh (SJAS) for his commendable rose to success in the international cricket arena. 

In a ceremony conducted here on Friday, the young pacer was awarded a Gold medal for his achievements so far in the cricket field.

Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Saeed Ghani presented the medal to Dahani meanwhile also praised him for his outstanding performance.

“I hope Shahnawaz Dahani will continue to serve the country with pride and make Pakistan proud,” he said at the juncture.

Larkana-hailed Dahani was named best bowler of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6 with taking 20 wickets in 11 matches.

On the other hand, SJAS also awarded sports journalists of Sindh for their work throughout 2021.

DHAKA: Pakistan’s emerging fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani is looking forward to executing the learnings he got during the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2021. 

Dahani, who was the best bowler of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, is waiting for his turn and is confident to deliver anytime for Pakistan.

“Being a part of Pakistan team during T20 WC 2021 was the best experience for me. I really enjoyed my presence in the squad and tried to learn from fellow players,” he said.

“I have learnt a lot during T20 WC. I will try to execute my learnings in upcoming opportunities for me,” he added.

It must be noted here that Dahani is a part of Pakistan’s T20I squad against Bangladesh. Pakistan and Bangladesh will play three T20Is on November 19, 20 and 22.

Fakhar, Sarfaraz, Haider included in T20 World Cup squad

Lahore: Pakistan have made three changes as the national selectors on Friday confirmed squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled in UAE from 17 October to 14 November.

The squad was announced on 4 September but after taking into consideration player performances and form, the selectors have made three changes.

Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali have replaced Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain respectively, while Fakhar Zaman, who was originally named as a travel reserve, has swapped places with Khushdil Shah.

The decision on Sohaib Maqsood’s inclusion in the squad will be made following medical advice. The top-order batter underwent MRI scans for the lower back after the 6 October National T20 match against Northern and missed Thursday’s Punjab derby against Central Punjab.
