Bowling coach Shaun Tait to reach Pakistan on March 9: Sources

KARACHI: Pakistan’s bowling coach Shaun Tait, who missed the Rawalpindi Test of the historic Benaud-Qadir Trophy due to his father’s demise, will now reach the country on March 9, sources claimed.

Tait, whose father passed away last month is now set to travel to Pakistan to serve as the bowling coach of the national side during their historic home series against Australia.

After arriving on March 9, the bowling consultant will undergo a mandatory three-day isolation period and will be available after returning a negative COVID-19 test result.

Earlier, PCB condoled the passing of Tait’s father and announced that the bowling coach will join the squad late.

“PCB condoles the passing of bowling coach Shaun Tait’s father, due to which his arrival in Pakistan has been delayed. Shaun’s new arrival date will be confirmed in due course,” the statement read.

It must be noted here that Tait was appointed as the Pakistan team’s bowling coach for 12 months. His first assignment will be Pakistan’s home series against Australia.

Shaun Tait to miss Rawalpindi Test due to his father’s funeral

KARACHI: Pakistan’s bowling coach, Shaun Tait will miss the Rawalpindi Test to attend his father’s funeral, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) informed on Monday.

Tait, whose father passed away last week, will miss the historic Rawalpindi Test to attend the funeral. Following this, the PCB will share his arrival date in Pakistan in due course.

Earlier, PCB condoled the passing of Tait’s father and announced that the bowling coach will join the squad.

“PCB condoles the passing of bowling coach Shaun Tait’s father, due to which his arrival in Pakistan has been delayed. Shaun’s new arrival date will be confirmed in due course,” the statement read.

It must be noted here that Tait was appointed as the Pakistan team’s bowling coach for 12 months. His first assignment will be Pakistan’s home series against Australia.

Saqlain, Tait, Yousuf to coach Pakistan during Australia series

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced to retain Saqlain Mushtaq as the national team’s head coach for another 12 months whereas former Australian pacer Shaun Tait has been appointed as bowling coach for 12 months. 

On Wednesday, PCB announced a 16-men squad for the Test series against Australia. Meanwhile, also disclosed the team management for the Australia series.

“PCB has confirmed Saqlain Mushtaq will continue as head coach for another 12 months, while it also announced the appointments of Shaun Tait as fast bowling coach for 12 months and Mohammad Yousuf as batting coach for the Australia series,” the statement said.

Pakistan and Australia will play three Tests in Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore respectively, starting on March 4.
