Pakistan’s Punjabi folk icon Arif Lohar, who is currently in Australia these days, visited the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Pakistani folk music legend soaking in the rich history and atmosphere of the venue. During his tour, he explored the dressing rooms and learned about the ground’s significance from the MCG tour guide.

The guide shared insights into Pakistan’s cricketing history at the MCG, including the 1992 World Cup final and the team’s last Test match played under Shan Masood’s leadership.

With the Pakistan team set to play a white-ball series match at the MCG in November, Arif Lohar’s visit marks an exciting moment for cricket and music fans alike.

Currently on tour in Australia, Arif Lohar is spreading Pakistani culture and music across the globe, with his popular songs like “Jugni Ge” and “Aa Tenu Moaj” being loved by fans everywhere.

It’s worth noting that Cricket Australia (CA) has announced plans to set up dedicated Pakistan fan zones for the upcoming white-ball series.

The five venues in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and Adelaide will feature fan zones designated for Pakistani fans.

CA will set up designated seating areas for Pakistan fans, where they can comfortably watch the high-intensity action while enjoying halal food, and desi cuisines. Pakistan fan zones will also have designated prayer areas for fans.

FIFA features Arif Lohar’s banger on Lionel Messi’s birthday

A crossover no one had seen coming but everyone is in for, Pakistan’s Punjabi folk icon Arif Lohar, got featured on FIFA’s official page on the 37th birthday of Lionel Messi.

Seems like the International Federation of Association Football aka FIFA couldn’t help but fall in love with Pakistani music, as it used iconic folk singer of the country, Arif Lohar’s banger ‘Aa Tenu Moj Karavan, Aa Tenu Sair Karavan’, to mark the 37th birthday of GOAT, Lionel Messi, earlier this week.

Sharing the edit of some of the most memorable moments of his career, with Lohar’s number in the background, the federation captioned, “میسی کا جادو (Messi’s magic)! Happy 37th birthday, Messi.”

The reel has more than 1.5 million views on the official page and Pakistani fans couldn’t contain their excitement on the feature, dropping thousands of likes and comments on the post.

“Fifa is obsessed with Pakistani songs,” wrote a social user, while another commented, “We got messi edit on Pakistani song before gta6.”

“The Pakistani Takeover,” one more comment read. “Wait what this was not the collab I was expecting,” a fourth Instagrammer noted.

One of the football fanatics also made a humble request asking, “Bado Badi on Ronaldo’s birthday.”
