Queen’s Baton Relay journey in Karachi enters final stage

KARACHI: The Queen’s Baton of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, entered final stage of its tour of Pakistan, after the baton unveiled at Lyari Kakri Ground.

An event was held at the famous Kakri Football Ground in Lyari for the unveiling of the baton. Deputy British High Commissioner, Martin Dawson, specially participated in the ceremony.

Athletes from Lyari’s popular sports Football, Boxing and Martial Arts, also participated.

Earlier this week, the baton was taken to Sindh Madressa-Tul-Islam University, where the tour of the Queen’s baton started.

22nd Commonwealth Games’ torch to reach Pakistan on December 27

KARACHI: The torch of the upcoming 22nd edition of Commonwealth Games will reach Karachi on 27th December, Pakistan Olympic Association to welcome.

The torch will stay in Karachi for three days, with the unveiling event taking place at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum, Sindh Madrasa-ul-Islam, and Sindh University. The visit of the torch to Lyari is also on the agenda.

Organizing committees for various programs; including members from Rangers, Police, Commissioner Karachi, Administrator Karachi, Sindh Sports Board, formed.

The torch will then fly to Maldives from Karachi.

The 22nd edition of Commonwealth Games will be commencing in Birmingham from 28th July, 2022 till 8th August.
