DOHA: In the 72nd Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Congress, 195 countries have voted in Pakistan’s favour to uplift the suspension from the country.
Pakistan received a tremendous 195 votes out of 199 votes during the 72nd FIFA Congress, indicating that a large majority of football-playing nations voted in favour of the country.
In the 210-nation congress, 208 countries were judged qualified to vote, although the total turnout remained at 199, with only four countries voting against Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the results of the voting will enable the council to lift the suspension once the pertinent requirements have been fulfilled.

DOHA: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) delegation under the presidency of Chairman of Normalization Committee (NC) – Haroon Malik met the officials of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) during the 72nd Congress to discuss the issue of ending the suspension from the country.
In the discussion between the NC delegation and FIFA officials, the football governing body reiterated its full support for the NC and also expressed hope of witnessing the continued development of football in the country.
Haroon, who is accompanied by Shahid Niaz Khokhar and Haris Azmat thanked the FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for their support towards the revival of football in the country.
“The services of FIFA and AFC for the revival of Pakistan football are unforgettable,” Haroon said.
It’s worth mentioning that Pakistan is getting closer to having its FIFA suspension lifted. In the latest development, the negotiations between FIFA’s nominated NC and the government have been successful. Whereas, the Board of Revenue Punjab has also returned the control of the PFF house to the NC.

KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) delegation under the presidency of Chairman of Normalization Committee (NC) – Haroon Malik has left for Qatar to attend the 72nd Congress Meeting of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
The Pakistani delegation, led by Haroon also comprises other members including Shahid Niaz Khokhar and Haris Azmat.
According to the details, the delegations will discuss the issue of ending the suspension from the country and also be participating in the draws of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.
“Pakistan will discuss the issue of ending the suspension of football in the FIFA Congress,” Haroon said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PFF is inching closer to the uplifting of the suspension imposed by FIFA as in the latest development, the negotiations between FIFA’s nominated NC and the government have been successful and the Board of Revenue Punjab has returned the control of the PFF house to the NC.
