Home side Kings tie up with defending champions Sultans in PSL 7 opener

The wait is about to end, the perks for PSL fans are just around the corner as national and international stars will lit up the seventh episode of the fastest growing franchise league today. 

From the glittering opening ceremony to the grand start with home side Karachi Kings taking on defending champions Multan Sultans, the stage is all ready to amuse cricket fans across the world.

With all-time bigger collaboration of tv rights, PSL 7 will be live telecasted all around the world.

The opening match will be played between the two captains who turned teammates to opponents. Fans favorite Babar Azam (Karachi Kings) and crowd puller Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans) will lead up to the expectations of fans who will be in numbers across the world.

Reportedly, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim and Jordan Thompson will not be available for the opening match. Sultans whereas will have strong combination.

Eight thousand fans will watch the match live in the stadium whereas millions on Televisions and social media. The match will start at 7:30pm and will be live streamed on A Sports and PTV Sports.

Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim to miss PSL 7 opening encounter

KARACHI: Karachi Kings’ left-arm pacer – Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim are set to miss the opening match of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), here on Thursday.

The most followed franchise of the PSL – Kings faced a major setback ahead of their opening encounter against the defending champions Multan Sultans as Amir will not be able to play; suffering a side strain injury. Whereas, Imad will not be available for today’s match as his quarantine period is yet to complete on Saturday.

Moreover, another Kings’ pacer – Jordan Thompson will also be unavailable for today’s match.

On the other hand, Sultans Johnson Charles will also miss the opening match today.

It is worth mentioning here that the Kings will be taking on the defending champions – Sultans in the opening match of the PSL 7 today at National Stadium Karachi.

Practice match between Karachi Kings, Islamabad United tied

KARACHI: Skipper Babar Azam remained not out for 48 as Karachi Kings held drew against Islamabad United in a revised target practice match here on Tuesday. 

While batting first, United posted 150-5 thanks to Waseem Jr’s quick 33 not out off 20 balls. Danish Aziz smashed 26 runs off 18 balls to help his team make a mark on the scoreboard.

For Kings, Mohamamd Nabi, Umaid Asi, Amir Yamin, Mohammad Ilyas and Imran Jr bagged a wicket each.

In reply, Kings were given a revised target which was followed by a draw. Kings scored 164 for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs. Babar was retired after scoring 48 runs followed by Sharjeel Khan’s 46 off 41.

Joe Clarke made 31 off 21 and Nabi finished off well with 15 off seven deliveries.

Imtiaz Super Store becomes the official supermarket partner of Kings for PSL 7.

Karachi Kings sign PSO Carient Motor Oil as Titanium sponsor for PSL 7

KARACHI: The most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings have signed PSO Carient Motor Oil as Titanium sponsor for the seventh edition of the league. 

Taking to Twitter, Kings announced titanium sponsorship with PSO Carient Motor Oil.

‘Karachi Kings are ready to rule’ Wasim Akram excited for PSL 7

KARACHI: Wasim Akram – former Test cricketer and President of Karachi Kings is excited for the upcoming seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). 

In a video released on Kings’ official Twitter handle, Akram said Kings once again are ready to rule Pakistan’s biggest cricket event.

“Celebration everywhere as PSL 7 is just around the corner. Kings are ready to rule the biggest cricket event of Pakistan,” he said.

Bank Islami becomes Banking Partner of Karachi Kings for PSL 7

KARACHI: Bank Islami has joined hands with Karachi Kings as their platinum banking partner for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7, starting on January 27 here at National Stadium.

Team Owner Karachi Kings – Mr Salman Iqbal and President & CEO Bank Islami – Syed Amir Ali signed the MOU. 

It must be noted here that Kings won the PSL in 2020. They will start their campaign against defending champions Multan Sultans in the opening match of PSL 7.

Karachi Kings to play intrasquad practice match

KARACHI: The HBL Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) most followed franchise, Karachi Kings, will play an intrasquad practice match here on Wednesday to prepare for the forthcoming HBL PSL 7.

On the final day of the training camp, the Kings will be playing an intrasquad match to boost up the preparations for the PSL 7. According to details, Kings’ captain and the number one T20I batter – Babar Azam will also be in action today.

In the ongoing training camp, players were given different tasks to play according to the conditions.

After the conclusion of the unofficial training camp, the Kings will head into the biosecure bubble tomorrow where all players and officials in the squad will remain in quarantine for three days.

According to details, the influx of foreign players will also begin from tomorrow.

The official training camp will be held at the National Stadium from January 24. Whereas, the Kings will face off the defending champions Multan Sultans in the opening match on January 27.

KARACHI: Head coach Karachi Kings – Peter Moores is looking forward to working with the number-one T20I batter – Babar Azam in the upcoming seventh edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While talking to ARY Sports, Moores praised Babar’ batting technique and termed it as an exciting opportunity for him to work with him.

” It is always exceptional to watch Babar Azam play. Yes, it is an exciting opportunity for me and I am looking forward to working with him,” Moores said.

Moores also discussed that he is currently working on the team plans, however, he wants the Kings to play aggressive cricket.

ٰ”I am currently working on the team plans. We have to play aggressive cricket and will make the Kings fans happy with our performance,” Moores said.

“We have the opportunity to utilize all the players. We have to play well with both bat and ball,” he said.

Moores also praised the HBL PSL, termed it as a quality league and among the bests.

Dougie Brown, Kings’s assistant coach, on the other hand, said it is good to face the tough teams in the early stages while talking about the Kings’ opening match against the defending champions Multan Sultans.

Brown, however, also said that every match is important for the Kings.

Karachi Kings’ head coach Moores reaches Pakistan for HBL PSL 7

KARACHI: Karachi Kings, the most followed franchise of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), escalated their preparations for the forthcoming HBL PSL 7, head coach Peter Moores also joined the Kings’ training camp today.

The Kings’ players will train in the National Bank Stadium for the second day in a row, as head coach Moores and assistant head coach Brown have joined the training camp to boost up preparations for the forthcoming HBL PSL 7.

Umaid Asif, the Kings’ all-rounder, is set to join the camp today. Whereas, Kings’ President – Wasim Akram will monitor the performances of the players.

Yesterday, Pakistan’s star players including Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, and Sharjeel Khan also attended the first training camp of the Kings under the supervision of Akram.

Kings will take on defending champions Multan Sultans in the opening match of the HBL PSL 7 on January 27 at National Stadium Karachi.
