WATCH: Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 jersey revealed

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday unveiled the official jersey of the national team for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to begin on February 7 across India and Sri Lanka.

The kit reveal was delayed until Pakistan’s government approved the team’s participation in the mega event.

The official reveal took place during the third and last T20I fixture between Pakistan and Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the video on its YouTube channel and social media accounts, featuring skipper Salman Ali Agha and others wearing the ‘Vanguard Markhor Edition’ jersey.

The jersey features a light green base color with darker green patterns layered over it to depict the country’s national animal – Markhor.

For the unversed, Pakistan’s men’s cricket team is set to participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, but will not play against arch-rivals India.

The decision follows after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Pakistan were originally scheduled to play India on 15 February in the T20 World Cup 2026 at Colombo.

The Government of Pakistan officially announced the decision on X post, stating that the Pakistan team would participate in the mega event, but also noted that the team would not take the field in the match scheduled for 15th February 2026 against India.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026, however, the Pakistan Cricket Team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February 2026 against India,” the post wrote.

WATCH: Fan asked to cover Pakistan jersey during India-England Test

A fan named Farooq Nazar, in the media, was told to cover up the Pakistan jersey during the India-England Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Following the incident, Lancashire stated that it has launched an investigation into the matter.

“We are aware of the incident referenced and are taking steps to understand the facts and context surrounding the matter fully,” a Lancashire spokesperson said.

In the video posted on social media, the security guard, identifying himself as a Lancashire employee, asked the fan to cover the Pakistan jersey.

The fan was wearing Pakistan’s traditional limited-overs jersey during the India-England match. However, it is unconfirmed on which day the fan was wearing a Pakistan jersey.

“I’ve been asked by control [Lancashire] if you can cover that shirt up, please,” the audio of the video transcribes.

In response, the spectator asked about the written order, and the guard replied that he should email regarding it.

“Can you give me the written order? I have paid for the ticket. I need it in writing before I comply,” Nazar said in the video.

Later, a lady police officer came in and explained why he needed to cover up his shirt or have it changed.

“I will not cover the jersey because I am representing the country. You can take me out by force. Everyone can film me what you are doing to me. I have paid for the ticket. No Indian crowd complained about me,” he told several security people.

As seen in the video, Farooq Nazar appeared annoyed by repeated requests to cover his shirt. Reports indicate that Nazar chose to leave the ground instead of hiding his shirt.

It is pertinent to mention that India and Pakistan have had tense relations in the recent past, both politically and in cricket terms.

A recent example was the cancellation of the 2025 World Championship of Legends (WCL) match between India and Pakistan, scheduled for 20 July at Edgbaston.

For the unversed, the fourth Test between India and England ended in a draw as the visitors battled out 143 overs during the final day.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the national team’s official jersey for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 in a grand ceremony at the newly-renovated Gaddafi Stadium here on February 7.

Pakistan’s jersey for the upcoming mega event was unveiled in a star-studded opening ceremony. The kit was revealed by the Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the highly anticipated event during the glittering ceremony.

The PCB uploaded the Pakistan jersey on its social media handles, showcasing the new design ahead of the upcoming series.

The PCB also released a minute-long promo to unveil Jersey, starring Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman alongside women cricketers Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana.

Earlier Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime minister of Pakistan inaugurated the newly rebuilt Gaddafi Stadium ahead of the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz said that it was a happy day for everyone that the stadium’s reconstruction was completed with “such grandeur”.

He further stated that he had faith in the Pakistan team to win the tournament.

PCB to unveil Champions Trophy 2025 jersey on THIS date

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to unveil the national team’s official jersey for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 in a grand ceremony at the newly-renovated Gaddafi Stadium here on February 7.

According to reports, the event will not only mark the jersey launch but also celebrate the completion of Gaddafi Stadium’s renovation ahead of the mega tournament.

The ceremony will be graced by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who will officially inaugurate the upgraded venue at 7 PM, followed by the jersey unveiling at 7:30 PM.

Fans will be allowed free entry, with gates opening at 5:30 PM. Meanwhile, the PCB has reserved the Imran Khan enclosure for special guests attending the event.

Pakistan’s jersey for T20 World Cup 2024 unveiled

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday, unveiled the “Matrix Jersey” of the national team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in June in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).

“Presenting you the Matrix Jersey is a symbol of unity,” wrote PCB on X, formerly Twitter.

Pakistan’s jersey for the upcoming mega event was unveiled in a star-studded ceremony here at Gaddafi Stadium.

Captain Babar Azam, alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah and Saim Ayub attended the ceremony and also posed with the newly-launched jersey.

The PCB also released a minute-long promo to unveil the “Matrix Jersey”, starring Babar, Shaheen, Rizwan, Naseem, Saim and Shadab Khan.

 

For the unversed, Pakistan are yet to announce their T20 World Cup 2024 squad. The cut-off for the teams to announce or alter their squads is May 25, after which any alteration will require approval from ICC’s Event Technical Committee.

The 2009 champions Pakistan will start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against co-host USA on June 6 before taking on arch-rivals India on June 9 in Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The Green Shirts will then take on Canada and Ireland in their remaining group-stage fixtures on June 11 and 16 respectively.

In a build-up to their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations, Pakistan will tour Ireland for a three-match series.

All three matches will be held at Clontarf in Dublin on 10, 12 and 14 May 2024 and will start at 3 PM local time.

Pakistan will then travel to England where they will compete in a four-match T20I series from May 22 to 30.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the official T20I jersey of the Pakistan national team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. 

A new kit has been introduced for the mega event. The team’s jersey – mainly comprised of green background – features yellow and green stripes with the star on the left and the World Cup logo on the right.

Taking to Twitter, the PCB shared the video of the new kit that features Pakistan captain Babar Azam, T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan, right-arm speedster Naseem Shah, and Pakistan national women’s team’s pacer Fatima Sana and all-rounder Kainat Imtiaz.

The thunder-themed green jersey, named Green Thunder, however, leaked hours ago on PCB’s online merchandise store as it had been put up for sale.

The images of the team’s new jersey had been circulating over social media and generated a mixed response from cricket fans.

It is apropos to mention that the Green Shirts will start their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against arch-rivals India on October 23 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
