Pakistan lose spot to Australia in ODI rankings

DUBAI: Following a resounding 3-0 clean sweep over England, Australia went ahead of Pakistan in the latest ICC ODI team ranking, released on Wednesday, displacing the Green shirts from the fourth position.

According to the International Cricket Council, Australia were rewarded for their wonderful performance in the recently concluded One-Day series against T20 World Cup champions England, who lost their top spot after a dismal loss.

Australia surpassed Pakistan and equalled points with third-placed India as they surged to 112 rating points. The national team, however, slipped to fifth place with 107 points on the Team Ranking charts.

New Zealand, on the other hand, took the pole position with 114 rating points since England’s ratings dipped to 113 from 119 at the start of the series.

Pakistan climb to third in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings

DUBAI: Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team have continued climbing the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings as the Green Shirts have now occupied third place in the latest rankings.

The Green Shirts, who dethroned India last week to claim the fourth rank in the ODI rankings, have continued to march up as they have now occupied third place in the latest rankings.

Following Australia’s defeat to Sri Lanka by 26 runs in the second ODI of the series, the Kangaroos lost two vital ranking points and allowed Pakistan to dethrone them from the third position.

New Zealand lead the Men’s ODI Team Rankings with 125 rating points, followed by second-ranked England with 124 points. Pakistan, on the other hand, are in third with 106.

It is important to note that Australia still have three matches left against Sri Lanka, and if they win them, they can reclaim the third place.
