Pakistan’s Shahzad bags bronze in WBPF Bodybuilding event in Thailand

PHUKET: In a major achievement, Pakistan claimed its first medal in the ongoing 13th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships & Congress held in Phuket, Thailand. 

Asian Champion Shahzad Qureshi bagged a bronze medal in the men’s master bodybuilding category after he finished third out of 20 participants competing in the category.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Ejaz Ahmed stood behind him as Pakistani bodybuilders grabbed two out of the top five positions in the competition.

Following his remarkable feat, medalist Shahzad thanked the president of the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation Kunwar Moiz and secretary Sohail Anwar for their support.

Furthermore, several Pakistani bodybuilders are yet to compete in different categories at the event which will run until December 12.

Pakistani bodybuilders departs for IFBB Asian Championship in Bishkek

LAHORE: National bodybuilding team on Thursday departed for Bishkek to participate in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Asian Championship 2022. 

According to the details, the Pakistani contingent, comprising 10 bodybuilders, five officials and a staff member, left for the Asian Championship scheduled from September 2 to 5 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Pakistani bodybuilders will compete in more than 14 categories at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the president of the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBBF) Tariq Pervez stated that the athletes had prepared well for the event while expressing optimism that they will bring a gold medal home.

Meanwhile, secretary PBBF urged the nation to pray for the success of the national athletes in the event.
