LAHORE: Islamabad United’s skipper Shadab Khan and young pacer Zeeshan Zameer will be unavailable to the team against Peshawar Zalmi tomorrow in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7.
The franchise confirmed that their skipper and pacer will be unavailable due to injuries. Shadab suffered a groin injury whereas Zeeshan sustained a side strain.
United are currently in number three position with eight points. They will play their eighth match against Zalmi tomorrow here at Gaddafi Stadium.
KARACHI: English cricketer Liam Dawson to replace Paul Stirling in Islamabad United’s squad for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7’s Lahore-leg.
Stirling, who scored magnificent half-century to lead United to victory against Peshawar Zalmi in their first PSL 7 game, will be leaving the league after February 7 due to national duty.
Ireland are scheduled to take part in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers.
PSL 7’s technical committee has approved United’s request for Stirling’s replacement. Same COVID-19 protocols will be followed for Dawson before he joins the two champions’ camp.
Lahore-leg of PSL 7 will start from February 10 after two days’ rest. As many as 19 matches including playoffs and final will be played Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium till February 27.
KARACHI: The most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings have signed partnerships with Urban Sole and Bona Papa for the seventh edition of Pakistan’s only cricketing brand.
The franchise officially announced the partnerships on their social media accounts. Urban Sole become footwear partner of 2020 PSL Champions.
Whereas, Bona Papa became the personal care partner of the Kings.
It must be noted here that the seventh edition of the PSL will take place from January 27 to February 27 in Karachi and Lahore.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7 is just around the corner and preparations are in full swing to successfully host yet another mega event in the country.
Due to COVID-19 fear, teams were allowed to pick two additional players in their squads. Now, they will go for it in the supplementary category on January 6 and 7.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is busy finalising the COVID-19 protocols for the event.
Initial plan
25-30 extra players will be added in the bio-secure bubble to deal with positive cases during the event.
A team can play their match even after their eight players test COVID-19 positive
In case of ninth player’s positive test, the team will have an option to pick replacement from additional players pool available in the bio-secure bubble
COVID-19 positive cases will remain in isolation for 10 days
Only two teams at a time will be allowed to travel from Karachi to Lahore on a chartered flight
It must be noted here that the event is scheduled from January 27 to February 27 in Karachi and Lahore.
