Karachi Kings pick Mir Hamza and Litton Das in Silver Category

LAHORE: Karachi Kings picked pace bowler Mir Hamza and Bangladesh wicket-keeper Litton Das in the Silver category of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 Player Draft here on Monday.

Mir Hamza, a talented fast bowler who was recently released by Karachi Kings in preparation for the PSL 10 Draft, made a triumphant return as the first selection in the Silver Category when the Kings decided to bring him back into their fold.

Known for his skill in swinging the new ball, Hamza has established himself as a valuable asset in the league. Throughout his PSL career, he has taken an impressive 23 wickets in just 20 matches, showcasing his effectiveness and potential.

Karachi Kings followed up this strategic acquisition by securing the services of the Bangladeshi batter Litton Das as their second pick. At 30 years old, Das is celebrated for his calm and composed demeanour at the crease, making him a formidable presence in the batting lineup.

With a noteworthy career tally of 2020 runs in international T20 matches, he has demonstrated his capacity for aggressive batting, underscored by his 11 half-centuries in 95 T20I appearances for Bangladesh. Overall, his experience shines through with an impressive total of 5123 runs accumulated across 227 T20 games, highlighting his prowess as a dynamic and prolific run-scorer in the format.

It’s worth noting that Mir Hamza and Litton Das have joined young all-rounder Arafat Minhas, New Zealand batter Tim Seifert and leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood, who were retained ahead of the draft.

Arafat Minhas, the talk-of-the-town all-rounder, has been retained in the Silver category. In addition to his on-field contributions, he will serve as the Kings’ brand ambassador, exemplifying the multifaceted role of a modern cricketer who excels both on and off the field.

LAHORE: Karachi Kings picked local all-rounder Khushdil Shah in their only pick in the Diamond category of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 Player Draft here on Monday.

The dynamic all-rounder has established himself as a pivotal figure in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Since his debut in 2017, he has donned the jerseys of Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans, showcasing his versatility with both bat and ball.

Over the course of 48 innings, he has amassed an impressive total of 693 runs, boasting a remarkable strike rate of 140.85. Alongside his batting prowess, he has also made his mark as a bowler, claiming 24 wickets at an outstanding average of 20.12.

Moreover, has represented the national team in 37 international white-ball matches since stepping onto the international stage in 2019.

It’s worth noting that Khushdil Shah is the third player in the Diamond category for Karachi Kings, joining a talented roster that includes the skilful pace bowler Hasan Ali and the accomplished English batter James Vince, both of whom were retained ahead of the draft.

The 29-year-old all-rounder has been a mainstay of the PSL, having played for Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans, since 2017. He has scored 693 runs in 48 innings at a strike-rate of 140.85, and taken 24 wickets at an average of 20.12.

He has also represented Pakistan in 37 international white-ball matches since making his debut in 2019.

Khushdil Shah is the third player in the Diamond category for Karachi Kings. He has joined pace bowler Hasan Ali and English batter James Vince, who were retained in the category ahead of the PSL 10 Draft.

Pakistan’s Test captain and Karachi King’s top-order batter Shan Masood expressed his excitement about David Warner’s inclusion, stating, “David Warner is one of the biggest names in international and franchise cricket. Following Warner’s selection, the franchise turned its attention to the second round, securing the services of Adam Milne, a pace bowler known for his speed and agility. Since making his debut for New Zealand in 2012, Milne has played 53 T20 Internationals, claiming 57 wickets at a commendable average of 24.98.

He has carved out a niche as one of New Zealand’s quickest bowlers, often leaving batters in awe of his pace. Milne’s extensive participation in international leagues adds to his resume, having made appearances in the Big Bash League, The Hundred Men’s Competition, the Indian Premier League (IPL), and the Vitality Blast.

The landmark season 10 of the PSL is slotted to take place between 8 April and 19 May later this year.

Earlier, this month the six franchises revealed their retentions ahead of the Players Draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Each franchise was allowed a maximum of eight player retentions from their previous squad. Three franchises made full use of the retentions except Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi – who retained seven players each.
