Two Pakistan players join Delhi Bulls for Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025

The Delhi Bulls have bolstered their lineup with the addition of two Pakistani cricketers, including all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, ahead of the ninth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, set to take place from November 18 to 30.

The franchise confirmed the signings of Iftikhar and young pacer Ubaid Shah through its official social media channels.

For 19-year-old Ubaid Shah, this will be his first taste of international franchise cricket.

The right-arm quick, younger brother of Naseem Shah, impressed during his Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 campaign for Multan Sultans, where he claimed 12 wickets in 11 matches.

Iftikhar Ahmed has played 66 international T20 matches for Pakistan, scoring nearly 1,000 runs at a strike rate of 129.10.

The hard-hitting middle-order batter has become a reliable presence in short-format leagues worldwide. His experience spans the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Earlier, the Delhi Bulls had strengthened their pace department with the signings of Salman Irshad and Mir Hamza during the player draft held on October 19.

Elsewhere, the draft also saw Pakistani players making their mark across franchises.

Deccan Gladiators picked up spinner Usman Tariq, who recently starred in the CPL 2025 with 20 wickets in 10 games, and young pacer Ali Raza.

Meanwhile, Zaman Khan, Asif Ali, and Akif Javed will represent Ajman Titans, adding more Pakistani flavour to this year’s T10 spectacle.

WATCH: Ubaid Shah’s wicket celebration leaves Usman Khan ‘stunned’

Multan Sultans’ pacer Ubaid Shah accidentally struck wicketkeeper Usman Khan on the head during a wicket celebration, creating a surprising moment in the game against Lahore Qalandars

The incident occurred during the high-voltage PSL 10 game held in Multan cricket stadium when Ubaid Shah dismissed Sam Billings.

Caught in the excitement of taking a crucial wicket, Ubaid turned and leapt in celebration but unintentionally ended up hitting Usman Khan on the head with the palm of his hand.

The keeper, who was wearing just a hat, appeared briefly stunned but continued playing after a quick medical check.

The Multan Sultans’ camp was visibly concerned, but Usman Khan gave a thumbs up to signal he was fine.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, with fans commenting on the passion and intensity PSL 10 has brought this season.

Despite the awkward celebration, Ubaid Shah’s performance was a major highlight of the PSL 10 match. He bowled with precision and took three wickets, playing a vital role in Multan Sultans’ first win of PSL 10.

Chasing a daunting total of 229, Lahore Qalandars crumbled under pressure and could only manage 195 for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs.

Lahore Qalandars started strong in pursuit of the target, posting 38 in 3.2 overs, before Mohammad Naeem’s wicket.

Fakhar Zaman led the charge with a brisk 32 off 14 balls, laced with three fours and two sixes. However, he was dismissed on the penultimate ball of the fourth over, halting Qalandars’ momentum.

Following his dismissal, Abdullah Shafique partnered with Daryl Mitchell and formed a brisk 36-run stand, taking the Qalandars’ score to 85 in 8.4 overs. Just as the Qalandars appeared to recover, Multan Sultans struck back, removing both batters in quick succession to leave the visitors struggling at 87-4.

The required run-rate soared as Qalandars slipped to 111-5 in 11.2 overs. Meanwhile, Sam Billings and Sikandar Raza provided them with a glimmer of hope with a valiant 38-run partnership.

Sam Billings was removed for a well-made 43 off 23 balls, an innings featuring four sixes and two fours. However, his dismissal derailed the chase once more. Sikandar Raza continued to fight with a valiant 50 off 27 balls, featuring five fours and three sixes, but the target proved too steep in the end.

WATCH: Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman struggle against Naseem Shah’s brother

Pakistan white-ball captain Babar Azam and top-order batter Fakhar Zaman were recently seen struggling against young pace bowler Ubaid Shah during a practice session.

Ubaid, who is the younger brother of star pace bowler Naseem Shah, has represented the Pakistan Under-19 team as well as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United. Hunain Shah, their third brother, is also part of the United franchise.

In a viral video, Ubaid is seen bowling to Babar and Fakhar in the nets, making them struggle to play with his pace and swing.

The young pacer bowls an outside off-stump delivery to Babar Azam, which the batter leaves, but the ball comes back sharply and goes over the stumps.

The star batter then attempts to play the hook shot against a short-pitched ball, but the ball hits him on the chest.

Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman attempts a defensive shot but misses the ball, which narrowly misses the bat and goes into the wicketkeeper’s safe hands.

For the unversed, Ubaid Shah was the second highest-wicket taker in the Under-19 World 2024 in South Africa with 18 wickets. He was also named in the team of the tournament.
