ISLAMABAD: The newly elected Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari stated that he is motivated to take measures for the betterment of sports in Pakistan.
Ehsan, while talking to the media after participating in a prize distribution ceremony, held at the Press Club, shared his desire to do something for the sports in the country.
“I will try to do something for the sports in our beloved country Pakistan as I, myself am a sports enthusiast,” Ehsan said.
He further congratulated the winning players and also lauded the female players for performing well.
“I would like to congratulate all the winning teams and players. I am amazed that the women’s tournament was also held and they did play well,” he shared.
The IPC Minister again commented on the preparations for the upcoming South Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Pakistan in May and said he will try that the players get proper training for the event.
“The South Asian Games are also coming up. For all the games, we will try to give good and fruitful training to our players so that they can make the country proud,” he concluded.

ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Provincial Coordination Minister Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari visited the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to review projects, here on Tuesday.
On his first visit to the PSB, the newly-elected IPC Minister reviewed the development work going on various projects.
The Minister also paid a visit to Roshan Khan Squash Complex, Player and Staff Cafeteria, while also monitoring the construction of Hamidi Hall.
The Director-General of PSB Colonel Retired Asif Zaman accompanied IPC Minister Ehsan on his first visit to the sports board and briefed the latter about development schemes.
“While speedy completion of work is a priority at the same time we must ensure all the work is up to the mark,” Minister remarked while engaging with the media in casual interaction.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was the first visit of IPC Minister Ehsan after taking the oath, earlier this month.

ISLAMABAD: Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari, the newly elected Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister, has claimed that he is unaware of the sacking of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja.
Ehsan ur Rehman, who received his first briefing from the secretary on Saturday, has expressed his opinion on the future of PCB Chairman Ramiz, claiming that he is unaware of the reports that are being circulated.
“I have no idea about the claims circulating that the government has planned to sack Ramiz from the chairmanship,” Ehsan ur Rehman remarked.
“I only found out about Ramiz’s removal from the PCB chairmanship through the media,” he continued.
The IPC minister further commented about the revival of the departmental sports and said, “All sports departments will be restored.”
Ehsan ur Rehman then went on to comment about the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA)’s ban on the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and vowed to resolve the issue at the earliest.
“We will resolve the issue of FIFA’s sanction on Pakistan soon. Whereas, the preparations of the South Asian Games will also be completed soon,” he concluded.

ISLAMABAD: The newly-appointed Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari gets his first briefing after taking the oath, and a cash reward policy for the athletes also came under discussion.
The press release, shared by the IPC ministry, unveiled that Ehsan ur Rehman got his first briefing by the secretary and the matter of awarding the athletes with a cash reward also came into the discussion.
According to the details, the Minister was informed that the cash award scheme for athletes is also being reviewed and modified. A database for athletes as well as features to help track their performance was also discussed.
Furthermore, Ehsan ur Rehman, who formerly served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Youth and Sports, pledged to encourage sports in the country in an effort to project a softer image of the country.
“Sports and tourism are critical to promoting the country’s softer image, and we must use all resources at our disposal to improve the country’s soft image,” the IPC minister stated.
The federal minister was next briefed on the Pakistan Sports Board (PCB), which serves as the country’s centre for sporting activities, and was given a presentation on the PSB’s functions and budgets.
In addition, the Minister was presented to Director General PSB Colonel retired Asif Zaman, who was given an overview of the various initiatives.
It is pertinent to mention here that since the first briefing mostly focused on the operations of the ministry and PSB, the matter of the revival of departmental sports may too soon come under discussion.
