It is worth mentioning that James Vince has previously represented Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans.

Earlier today, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) extended the No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the Peshawar pace duo of Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam, currently taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.

The one-match extension was announced by the BCB in a press release statement.

“The decision has been made following a request from their PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi, as well as the Pakistan Cricket Board,” the BCB statement read.

For the unversed, Peshawar Zalmi are unbeaten in the tournament and are at the top of the points table with four wins out of five games.

His knock not only helped him enter the 12,000-run club but also powered Karachi Kings to a mammoth total.

Among Englishmen, he becomes the third batter to reach the milestone after Jos Buttler and Alex Hales.

On the night, Vince was part of a game-defining 162-run second-wicket stand with Kings’ skipper David Warner, who top-scored with a classy 86 off 50 balls (11 fours, 2 sixes).

The Kings didn’t slow down after their dismissals either. A blistering late onslaught by all-rounders Khushdil Shah (43 off 15)* and Mohammad Nabi (26 off 10)* lifted the side to a commanding 237/4.

Despite a valiant 94-run knock from Zalmi captain Babar Azam, the Kings bowlers held their nerve to defend the total and seal a 23-run victory.

James Vince credits openers, bowlers for dominant win against Multan Sultans

LAHORE: James Vince, the top-order batter for Karachi Kings, praised the openers and bowlers for securing an impressive 87-run victory against Multan Sultans in the 20th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

Chasing a daunting 205-run target, Multan Sultans crumbled under the pressure and were bowled out for a mere 117 in 16.1 overs, thanks to a dominant bowling display from Karachi Kings bowlers.

The defeat marked the end of the road for the Sultans in this PSL, after they managed only one win in eight games.

Multan Sultans started poorly in the chase, losing their in-form batter Mohammad Rizwan for a golden duck in the second over. Their batting line could not rise to the occasion in a do-or-die encounter, eventually folding out for a mere total.

James Vince clinched the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his gutsy 65 off 45 deliveries.

While sharing his thoughts during the post-match presentation, James Vince emphasized the importance of bouncing back after a break.

“The competition’s been a bit stop-start for us—win one, lose one—so it was important to bounce back with a win today after the mini break,” he said.

He gave credit to the openers for laying a solid foundation while acknowledging the bowlers for a clinical display.

“I thought the openers gave us a fantastic start, which really set the tone. As the ball got older, batting became a bit trickier—I didn’t find it that easy out there. But posting 200 on this pitch was always going to be a challenging target, and full credit to the bowlers for finishing the job,” said Vince.

The right-handed batter highlighted the importance of strategic thinking, particularly the ability to read the pitch.

“In T20s, it’s crucial to assess the wicket early—some days it’s a 200-run pitch, other days you need to be a bit smarter with your approach.

“The key is to read the conditions quickly and make sure you don’t let the opposition back into the game. It’s all about adapting and executing the right plans on the day,” he concluded.

James Vince calls out ECB over NOC policy for franchise cricket

England batter James Vince has broken his silence on England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) no-objection certificate (NOC) policy for franchise cricket.

The right-handed batter recently quit England’s first-class cricket due to a policy that barred players from playing any global league other than the Indian Premiere League (IPL).

The 33-year-old Vince was retained by Karachi Kings ahead of the PSL 10 draft, however, concerns remained about his participation in the league.

Soon after, Vince stepped down as Hampshire captain and will miss the team’s County Championship campaign to play in the PSL 10.

Now, the England player has made shocking revelations about the impact of the ECB policy on the players.

“When they first mentioned it, a WhatsApp group of players was created and there was a lot of discussion,” James Vince said in a recent interview.

“The initial feeling was that it was going to drive people away from red-ball cricket. It felt like it was going to limit opportunities. Players were frustrated by it… There were a few things in there that [we] didn’t really understand.”

According to the England batter, the ECB’s decision to let players participate in the IPL and no other league including the PSL 10 was due to the relationship between the cricketing boards.

“That’s a big one that has caused a lot of confusion. It has to be something to do with relationships between the ECB, PCB, and BCCI as to why they’ve come up with that rule,” James Vince added.

“The PSL is a shorter competition, so if you’re going to play in that, you’re probably missing less domestic cricket than if you’re going to the IPL… It just didn’t seem right.”
