KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi confirmed unavailability of their head coach Darren Sammy and replaced him with James Foster.
In a recent statement, Zalmi informed that Sammy will not be available for initial matches due to personal commitments.
South Africa’s Hashim Amla has been re-appointed as the batting coach of 2017 PSL champion side. Mohammad Akram will serve as the director and bowling coach of the franchise.
PSL 7 will start on January 27 here at National Stadium. Home side Karachi Kings and defending champions Multan Sultans in the opening match.
KARACHI: Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) most followed franchise – Karachi Kings will hold a final practice session, at National Stadium today.
The former champions – Kings will hit the training track at the stadium. The session is due to begin at 7:30 PM.
Recently, the Kings also held numerous practice sessions including a practice match against Islamabad United yesterday, which resulted in a tie.
The Kings will start their PSL 7 campaign against the defending champions Multan Sultans, in the opening match of the marquee event, tomorrow at National Stadium.

KARACHI: Australia’s World Cup-winning all-rounder – James Faulkner, who is set to represent Quetta Gladiators in the forthcoming seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), said he is excited to join the Gladiators in the training session.
In a video statement, Faulkner, while expressing his excitement for the mega event said he is looking forward to joining the training sessions after the completion of his isolation period.
“I am excited to join Quetta Gladiators for season seven of the PSL, looking forward to getting out of the quarantine today and hitting the training track,” he said.
Faulkner went on to say that the 31-years-old is also looking forward to the Gladitors’ first game on January 28 against the former champions – Peshawar Zalmi.
On the other hand, Will Smeed, Dan Lawrence, Ben Duckett have already joined the Gladiators’ squad, while Luke Wood will join the side soon.
Furthermore, Jason Roy and James Vince are set to join the squad after the completion of the England-West Indies series, whereas, Noor Ahmad will join the 2019 champions after the ongoing ICC Under 19 World Cup.
The marquee event will kick off on January 27 at National Stadium with the former champions Karachi Kings taking on the defending champions – Multan Sultans, in the curtain-raiser.

KARACHI: Skipper Babar Azam remained not out for 48 as Karachi Kings held drew against Islamabad United in a revised target practice match here on Tuesday.
While batting first, United posted 150-5 thanks to Waseem Jr’s quick 33 not out off 20 balls. Danish Aziz smashed 26 runs off 18 balls to help his team make a mark on the scoreboard.
For Kings, Mohamamd Nabi, Umaid Asi, Amir Yamin, Mohammad Ilyas and Imran Jr bagged a wicket each.
In reply, Kings were given a revised target which was followed by a draw. Kings scored 164 for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs. Babar was retired after scoring 48 runs followed by Sharjeel Khan’s 46 off 41.
Joe Clarke made 31 off 21 and Nabi finished off well with 15 off seven deliveries.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to undertake breast and childhood cancer awareness initiatives in the upcoming seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a press release, PCB announced to use the popularity and reach of its marquee event to create awareness among the masses as a part of ‘social corporate responsibility’.
PCB will observe Pink Ribbon Day on February 4th, when Karachi Kings take on Peshawar Zalmi, and the National Stadium in Karachi will turn pink to raise awareness about breast cancer. The competing teams will also wear pink caps and ribbons, and awareness messages will be displayed throughout the stadium.
On February 15, however, the Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators players will don golden caps and ribbons to create awareness about childhood cancer. As a result, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore will be turned golden and the teams will present signed shirts to two cancer patients; maintaining a safe distance.

KARACHI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise – Peshawar Zalmi has replaced Kamran Akmal and Arshad Iqbal with Imam Ul Haq and Ammad Butt for the upcoming seventh edition of the PSL.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Kamran and Arshad have been replaced following their contraction to the COVID-19.
PSL Technical Committee, who met on Monday, discussed the matters relating to the PCB’s marquee event.
As per the outcomes of the meeting, the committee has allowed the Zalmi to add Imam and Ammad to their line-up. Imam, who was previously not included in the pool of reserved players was also added by the committee after the meeting.
Apart from Imam, Omair Bin Yousuf also got his name in the reserved pool of players.
The committee also decided to permit as many as 20 players for each team at any given time. Players replaced, will also be allowed to rejoin their teams after seeking approval from the technical committee.
It is worth mentioning here, that the seventh edition of the PSL is set to commence on January 27 with Multan Sultans taking on Karachi Kings in the league’s opener.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise and the defending champion – Multan Sultans have entered into the bio-secure bubble after completing the three day quarantine period, here on Monday.
The squad of the Sultans have entered the bio-secure bubble for the upcoming PSL 7, while David Willey, Rilee Rossouw, Shan Masood and Shahnawaz Dahani will join the squad later in the bubble after the completion of their quarantine period.
On the other hand, Imran Tahir, Blessing Muzarabani, and Tim David, who started their isolation yesterday will join the Sultans after two days.
The Sultans also have a practice session scheduled for today at a local cricket academy in the evening. Whereas, the defending champions have also scheduled a practice game with Peshawar Zalmi on the 25th of January
Furthermore, all the coaching staff have also arrived in Karachi.
It is worth mentioning here that the seventh edition of the PSL will commence on January 27 with the Sultans taking on the former champion Karachi Kings at National Stadium.

With Pakistan’s biggest sporting festival – PSL is just around the corner, the teams have started preparations for the marquee event. Former champions – Peshawar Zalmi have started their regular training for the upcoming season, while the 2019 champions – Quetta Gladiators had an optional training session on Monday.
The broadcasting crew has also raced their preparations and have begun installation at the stadium. Ground staff, on the other hand, are working on the wickets.
Banners of PSL 7 have also been installed in the stadium. Big posters of cricketers are also being posted across the stadium.
Furthermore, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans will be training at a local cricket academy today, while the training session of Lahore Qalandars is also scheduled for today.
